Our recent discussion on UHF/SHF (23cm) EME Q65 confirmed today the fastest mode available is Q65-30B. WSJT-X does an outstanding job of doppler control and can be used to control doppler for CW QSO’s via configuring Preferences/Radio/Mode to None so that the mode of the transceiver (in CW mode) is not changed to Data/Pkt when moving frequencies.
WSJT-X Doppler Control is only enabled with Monitor is also enabled. Can we consider adding an option to Preferences/General/Behavior to Enable Doppler control while monitoring is off thus minimizing WSJT-X CPU/Power use - We need doppler control but we don’t need decode capability. Also, going back to Q65-15A for EME, I would ask consideration for a new mode say Q65-20M which would be essentially Q65-15A but with an extra 5+ seconds for Decode. Since 20 seconds intervals are an odd number into 1 minute, cycles would be over 2 minutes using even and odd minutes as follows: 1st +00:00, 2nd +00:20, 1st +00:40, 2nd +01:00, 1st +01:20, 2nd 01:40...
