Thanks for your reply. The "/R" usage is intended for NA VHF contest
messages only. You can't "mix and match" with the special message
formats. Thus, you can't use a "/R" callsign in (say) the special RTTY
Roundup message formats.

In case anyone is interested. There was a reasonable amount of activity
yesterday in the pacific north West on 222 MHz FT8 during the 222 MHz sprint.
My FT736 appears to be more than stable enough for FT8 use on that band. At
one point I was getting two decodes on two audio frequencie
