FT8 (and other modes in WSJT) already support messages of the form
"CQ XX K1ABC FN42", where "XX" is any two letters. They have done so for some
considerable time. Obviously XX can be DX. So I do not understand what you are requesting.
Yes, but the grid square is not embedded in the call sequence when a custom
message occurs. it would be if there was support for CQ DX built-in…

"CQ XX K1ABC FN42" are fully supported. They are not "custom messages".
This capability is "built in".
Have you read the relevant material in the User Guide? Do you use
WSJT-X? Have you tried sending "CQ DX W7CIA DN24" ? If not, why are
you asking about it?
