Precision Mapping's licensing scheme is a pain in the rear. Every time I moved it to a new PC, I had to have new codes and track the old codes because the old codes had to be used to get new codes and multiple modules required multiple codes and the UI-View interface required codes - Yuch! Nev

The challenges with a live CD is that you cannot save your settings. Every time you start the Live CD, the PC is dedicated to the Live CD and you have to enter the settings all over again. Live CDs usually don't work very well with wireless cards either - my experience. Not to mention it is slo

Eric, You are correct. However, I was trying to get people up on VMware Player which is a tad bit easier than VMware Server which I have also used. Another limiting factor with VMware Server, is that IF you have multiple virtual appliances running, you better have some decent memory like 1GB

I wrote out the instructions for installing Xastir on Windows system using VMware Player. Hainv never used a Wiki before, I am not sure if I did it correctly but they are posted in UserTalk under WB8NUT. Good Luck and let me know how it works out so I can update, add, or correct as necessary.
