I've been using VNC to admin all of my computers. It works in all of the
platforms I know about. My shack and computer room lack the amenities
(couch, food, and TV). So I use my laptop to get in and see what is going
on.
To get a feel of what it VNC will run on

I got festival server running (thanks again for the help). I hit the test
button on the Configure Speech window and the test message Welcome to Xastir
is heard.
But... I still have all of the selections greyed out for selecting what I
want speech to do..

Found the problem Some how I made the group/overlay setting in the
Configure Station window blank. Once I put a / in the window everything
works!
