the same problem.
You can get round this by installing the last version. Only thing is you
have to watch the auto
updates as they will install the new later version again.

>From there In created a symlink from /usr/bin/gcc-4.1 (installed on my
opensuse10.2) to /usr/bin/gcc
Pointed vmware at that and it compiled a new module.

have checked the libs and all are there.
I have had a word with Ian G6VEY also running Suse 10.2 and he has the
same problem.
I compiled up 1.8.4 & 1.8.3 and they still do it on Suse 10.2. Has
anyone else come across this?
