Things are broken here beyond comprehension. From an Xastir standpoint
I can see what is happening, but not why. Seems like Apple made some
fundamental changes to X11 and in the process ruined things
completely. The compile/make process is spitting out errors that "the
--datarootdir setting
Works fine for me and has for months. Build your Leopard binary on
Leopard. Don't just try top keep using your Tiger binary (though, ISTR i
did that for a while too)

I upgraded to Leopard yesterday and have Xastir up and running. No
problems whatsoever.
I am running OS X 10.5 on a MacBookPro with a 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo,
upgrade installation. So far has been great with only 1 very minor issue.
