Martijn,
If this is not going to be considered for inclusion in the kodi.org
repo, I want to get it out of my git to avoid confusion. If it goes in
I'll support it. Please let me know.

well i was waiting for you to come to some agreement :)
personally i feel more for including the complete rewritten version by
bromix.
From experience i know how the old vimeo was written and it's no fun

I agree with all below and said the same in an email to Bromix. I do have a
request that the download function be implemented. It's really heavily used in
the Vimeo environment where mixes and edits of videos are the norm.
I don't want to have to support a rogue version with download like I do
As far as I know the existing addon works fine. You sshould have been
aware of it, you posted to the thread a couple of days ago.

YouTube?
I didn't thought someone was already up to fix or even update the
addon...but I started a few days back also with vimeo with a much smaller
footprint :)
Aware yes, in the context of someone is fixing/patching it - like the
YouTube addon you're patching for gotham. But vimeo is at the current state
not maintained by the collective or available via the repo - not in gotham
neither in helix. So I assumed the patching is only available via your
repos
I'm not sure that this cleaned up enough for the official repo,
but I'd like to find out what remains to be done.
