you can also use the provides flag and add "game" to it. Like done here:

This is ignored for now, but if retroplayer get's merged soon, there will
be a new category in Kodi "Game add-ons" and this is
Added to repo.
There's no guarantee that we will keep using the script.game.* filter on
our website though.

Thanks for the information, I have updated the name of the addon to
start with script.game, please can you add the following:
*addon - script.game.filmwise
*version - 1.0.0
*url - https://github.com/robwebset/script.game.filmwise
*revision - 1a509ffeb01aa1203ee735611b124051f95c093
currently it's some ugly hack to just uses script.game.*
You also see there's no games category in Kodi itself as it doesn't check
anything.
Perhaps with retroplayer we can use something more reliable
