HI,
xCAT development and testing team have always been using the xCAT
pre-shipped RHEL kickstart templates under /opt/xcat/share/xcat/install/rh
without any problem, you may want to use the xCAT pre-shipped kickstart
template also, if you do not have specific requirements with the
installation.

and don't mind sharing? I tried using our 6.1 template file and it keeps
failing with syntax errors.

A newly built xCAT-server-2.7.3 service node did pull in tftp-server from the
distribution, and not atftp.

atftp was obsoleted, because we are now using the tftp that comes in the
distro (tftp-hpa). The xCAT spec file Requires /etc/xinetd.d/tftp, which
was intended to pull in the tftp-server rpm in rhel and the tftp rpm in
sles. The config file that AAsn.pm generates is for these rpms. Not sure
how y
