What you will get if you run the following commands manually on the
scl-p05-mn?
cd /install/netboot/centos6/x86_64/scl-mgmt/rootimg
gzip -cd /tmp/xcat_imgcapture.30829 | cpio -idum
Several possible reasons I can think of:
gzip is not installed on scl-p05-mn, or the scl-p05-mn does not have
You are right, the "profile" attribute in the osimage table is not that
heavily being used, it could be used to generate some default paths if the
path was not set explicitly, can could also be used the "group" or
"categorize" the osimages.

Hello,
I realized it is a problem with locked files inside the running image. I
have removed the locked files from the running image, and it works without
any issues.
