Which OS were you deploying? And which xCAT version you are running? (lsxcatd -a)
For rh and sles, xCAT is using dracut to generate the initrd. We can take a look what xCAT can do when call dracut to genereate initrd.

Hi,
Installing 6 new GPU NextScale nodes...installation went fine but on the
reboot nodes get stuck after going through POST. Nothing on the console as
far as I can tell. Tried changing boot order to hard disk first and also
changing from UEFI to Legacy and that did not fix it.

Just an update. Manually modifying the init script to "insmod ixgbe.ko
allow_unsupported_sfp=1" allowed the node to boot.
It would be great if xCAT could support in the init script to look for
network driver options in the command line and follow those at init

I have kind of a strange question. We have some nodes we are netbooting
that are using an Intel 10G card with a non-intel SFP. In order for the
ixgbe driver to permit the SFP to work, you have to pass it the
"allow_unsupported_sfp=1" option.
