perfect - somewhere along the road something went awry with the name
resolution for the management node. Problem solved!

This can happen if you have something modifying the DNS of the client node.
Double check that the client node's DNS is configured correctly when it
gets stuck. Verify that both forward and reverse DNS work properly from
the client node's perspective.

We've got a new xCAT MN running CentOS 7 and xCAT 2.11. It was running
happily for a while with a few nodes hanging off it.
Fast forward a few months upgrade to xCAT 2.12, and add a few more old
iDataPlex nodes, and node discovery/bmcsetup doesn't work. PXEboots fine,
but just never quite finis
