me know what you think of this solution. You will still have to select a
waypoint from the list before the button becomes clickable. I was thinking
of adding a temporary waypoint if a non-waypoint row is used with the GoTo

You could try to activate the "plane mode" of your phone while flying.
That will deactivate the mobile phone connection and should save a bit
of battery. The other idea would be to have an external USB battery
powering your phone when it runs out of power.
