did you tried src/merge/web
as merge dir? Maybe full path (
${basedir}/src/merge/web )
will help?

for some mysterious reasons xdoclet simply refuses to include my
servlets.xml and mappings.xml ..
i have created a src/merge/web dir in which i have placed the servlets.xml
and mappings.xml
here is hte excerpt of my build.xml
