I am using Netrunner 13.12 (based on Ubuntu 13.10) and It has the latest
version of texlive witch is 2013.

Thanks Zdenek. The zwpagelayout package fixes the problem. However, I am
using background package heavily and without supporting it will requires a
lot of changes in my book.

But I didn't find an answer to my question. I have though that here will
be a good place to draw xetex experts attention and I may find a solution
converting-xelatex-into-odt-or-ms-word.html
Perhaps there will be some helpful clues there?

I am now using pretest texLive 2013 to test and use the new features in
xetex. However, when I use bidi & eso-pic together the page layout is
broken. There is a big white space in the right side of the page. Since
wallpaper package uses eso-pic & polyglossia uses bidi package, the problem
