It was compiled fine by XeLaTeX by using slightly old pstricks.

It works fine with latex->dvips->ps2pdf, but I prefer using XeLaTeX for several
reasons.
A temporary workaround:

Thank you Akira for verifying this. At least now I know it's a pstricks
issue and not a xetex issue. Maybe I'll do the workaround via external
PDF files as long as this problem persists.

I don't know what the last warning means, though.
The warning verifies that you are not using TeX Live 2013.

I reran your example, and it now works (see attached pdf). pstricks was
recently updated (2013/08/20 v2.46) and it apparently fixed the bug that
you noticed (as it fixed a bug with psclip that I had recently noticed).
