I've talked to quite a few people that have had problems getting
dualhead to work on radeon IGP chips. Specifically, the crt port seems
to go into powersave mode when dualhead is enabled. I talked to Hui Yu
at ATI about the problem and he hasn't seen it on his IGP boards using
the lastest code fro
Hello,
I've been having problems with my new monitor, a Samsung SyncMaster 172T,
on the DVI output of my nVidia GeForce 3 Ti500 with xfree86 4.3.0. The
monitor has duel inputs, analog and digital, but I'd like to, if
possible, use the DVI input.
It functions adequately using the vesa driver, lim

NVIDIA's drivers replace XFree86's libGL and GLX module. You
need to uninstall NVIDIA's drivers to get OpenGL working with the
"nv" driver. Or at least restore XFree86's OpenGL libraries and GLX
module. For GLX it's merely a matter of removing NVIDIA's

Hello:
I have installed nVidia driver 1.0-4496 on my system, with Redhat 9.0 kernel
2.4.20-6 and XFree86 4.3.0-2, for an ASUS V9560VS (nVidia FX5600) card.
The driver was installed to nVidia's README, by-the-book. All requisite
libraries now appear in their designated locations.
XF86Config
This is a common Debian problem. Remove Option "UseFBDev"
from the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file. You do not have a framebuffer
device.

You need to configure the X server. The easiest way may be to use a
distribution specific configuration utility, if one is available for your
distro. If not, try 'xf86config'.

Hi,
You probably just need to make sure you have Unix domain sockets support
in the kernel. It's in the Networking section. Specificially, the .config
file in your /kernel/source_dir/ should have this line:

I have a problem. X-server couldn't start with new-compiled
kernel ( 2.4.20-20 or 2.6.0-test6 ). With old system kernel (2.4.20 -

new-compiled kernels? Thank You.
