I noticed considerable slowdown when browsing the Internet. When looking
at the connectivity (indicated by the lights on the modem) I found that it was
going on and off. Juggling the cables slightly seemed to give a steady light on
the modem but Internet br
Something catastrophic seems to have happened at a low-level.
That "Cannot read colourmap from VGA" message seems to imply
that writing or reading the video hardware has failed. Did you
change something about the machine? For instance, some bios
settings, or add a new PCI card?
Well, I'm getting these errors when I try to send the command 'startx' on my linux box.
"WW: TSENG, NO MATCHING FOR INSTANCE (BUS ID PCI [numbers here]) DEVICE"
And says that about 20 times. Then I get this:
"EE: NO DEVICES DETECTED"
then, looking through the log it says:
"WW: OPEN APM FAILED (

Is anyone out there using a Diamond Stealth 64 DRAM S3 Trio64
card with XFree86 4.3 or any version for that matter. When I try to
start X I get a server crash message saying no devices found.

I have been trying to get two different xsessions running on the same VT.
Currently each X that I kick off default to the next available VT. And if I
try to force the xsession to use the same vt of the other, I receive this
error:

I could not start XFree86-4.3 with FreeBSD 5.2-RELEASE although
