Hello,
I have a ALPHA 64 Bit machine at home running RedHat 7.2 Seawolf
addition. I have been unable to get X to work on its current
configuration. When I try to use the Xconfigurator command it detects a
ATIMach64 graphics card and does not give me any other option to choose.
Is there a st
Your log file indicates you can't set colour depth of 16 so try setting
colour depth to 8.
In your config file look for the "Screen0" section and change the default
depth to 8.

Hi
I have ramped up a U-Boot with a linux using the YDL dist through a uArt.
I'm trying to use a graphic card but without any success.
I'm trying to use three different PCI graphic card:

Use the gtf command. On a Fedora Core 1 system, the path is
/usr/X11R6/bin/gtf

default, XFree86 fails if it doesn't find a mouse. And it looks like it's not
finding a mouse when you start X. I don't know why it suddenly can't find your
mouse. Try running the mouseconfig command to configure your
mouse.

Hi Tomas:
Try to set the "virdual screen" in duble size orizontal. In others words, if
your screen mode is set to 800x600, set the virtual to 1600x600. That has
worked for me, using 2 nvidia. Later I have buyed a dual card. :) same
problem, but, changing the virtual has solved the problem. :)

I had similar problems in the computer I am using (I am working over
3000 Km from my house...)
The XFree86 log file is a good starting point, but where is it?
It was not attached to your email.

More information is needed. The /var/log/XFree86.0.log would be a
good starting point.

Start by using the "nv" driver that comes with XFree86 rather
than NVIDIA's binary driver. We can't provide support for third
party drivers. Using the native XFree86 drivers, post your
/var/log/XFree86.0.log from the failing configuration to this list.

A symptom that may be related to me screen resolution difficulties is that my
screen flickers, despite frequent degaussing.

I think first off you want to be using the native Matrox driver
instead of the generic Vesa driver like you are doing currently.
In the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file, replace Driver "vesa" with
Driver "mga".
If problems persist, try using the xtt font module instead
of freetype. That is, in th
