Type Xconfigurator and follow onscreen instructions for reconfiguring
your display card and everything will work out fine. Soon after just
restart your computer and not just the service but the reboot command.
I got my startx screen with that command.

Hi ML,
just one little question :-) :
Is it possible to make the X server run a script as soon as the monitor
is switched off (by Option DPMS/off)?
Or is there another way to get a script called/something executed?

Here is a script that needs XScreenSaver running to detect the transition...
This one powers off my LCD when the screensaver comes on. Maybe there is
something in there you can adapt to your needs.
