You are trying to run a Nvidia glx binary compiled for 4.0.2 of Xfree
You should nstall Nvidia drivers that are compatible with the new version of
Xfree.

Hmm sounds like a problem with the refresh rate or perhaps you are picking up
interference from perhaps another PCI card, or something generating
electromagnetic interference ie television.
