Hi!

I am using the radeon driver of XFree86 4.2.1 with an ATI Radeon 7500 QW graphics board and an 17" TFT display connected with a DVI cable.
When I run this configuration with a normal configured X server, I can not use the 1280x1024 mode as XFree tells me that I am not allowed to use a higher resolution than 1024x768 pixels.

To fix this I inserted the option "NoDDC" and set the option "PanelSize" to the value "1280x1024".

My problem is now that I don't get an acceptable refresh rate with that configuration. Some tests and calculations resulted in the conclusion that the dotclock frequency is not updated and stays at the same value as it had before starting the X server. (E.g. I get a refresh rate of about 47.2 Hz if I used normal VGA mode before.)

Can somebody give me a hint where I can search for the problem why the dotclock is not reconfigured when X starts? The configuration file I am using at the moment is available at http://matthias.wimmer.name/x11probs/, the file is 0002-XF86Config.
In this configuration I have set the screen size to 1280x960 at the moment as this results in a higher refresh rate that my display is able to use.

Thank you for any help!
Matthias Wimmer
