Hi, I just converted my Thinkpad T30 from SuSE 9.0 to 9.1. Now, the display will only start up with 1024x768 resolution, although the external monitor is a 1280x1024 LCD panel. It all worked perfectly happily at SuSE 9.0, which uses a different version of XFree86. It seems that the X server is

I think 7.2 is too old for a T41.  You *may* be able to get a more recent driver from the graphics chip manufacturer (ATI?).  Thre may not be one available for something as old as 7.2, so you may have to compile the source and install it yourself.  My advice is NOT to use 7.2, but to use someth
