First, check /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/doc/README.mouse. If that doesn't exist, then
you can download that file from via ftp:
ftp://ftp.xfree86.org/pub/XFree86/4.4.0/doc/README.mouse
This file describes quite well how to configure all the buttons for the
mouse, as well as the wheel and draglock features. It worked for me.
