[XFree86] Using xgamma with i810

I have an intel 852 graphic card that uses i810 driver.

When i change values with xgamma (xgamma -gamma 2, for example), nothing 
happens. The colour remains the same.

How can i change the colour of the screen?

note: it is a laptop, so it has no osd controls.
