i don't know whether this is the correct group, but decided to start here. i have RH9, kernel 2.4.20-19.9, latest Xfree86 (afik). mouse is PS/2, microsoft intellipoint, seems that it's correctly identified in the conf file.
mouse controls are adjusted for maximum sensitivity. if i just boot the system, don't restart GPM, mouse response is very slow. if i restart GPM, mouse response is fast. if i include 'service gpm restart' in the bash profile, mouse response is fast on boot-up. monitor, keyboard and mouse are connected through a Belkin KVM switch. if i switch to another machine, and come back to the RH9 box, mouse response is mostly erratic. to recover, i must restart GPM from a command line. Belkin tell me to 'restart GPM' (lotta help -that- was). i can't see why response is so slow on boot-up, but good on service restart. i don't understand what happens to gpm when i switch back and forth through the KVM. can anyone offer help or suggestions? _______________________________________________ XFree86 mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
