I'm trying install linux Mandrake 9.1 on my computer, but i have a
problem with my RADEON 7000 card.
So, i have not find a package for this card on web : have you got, or
exist a driver linux for this card ??

I am trying to use a RADEON 7000 VE DDR (PCI) video card with RED HAT 7.3 and
XFree86 Version 4.1.0, Linux 2.4.7-0.13.1smp i686 and the X server locks up when I start
the GUI I need to know if my video card is compatible and are there any drivers available.

ahi estan todos los errores en todo caso tambien sirve mensionar que
tarjeta grafica usas y que monitor.

I am trying to configure XFree to obtain:
On my primary screen: normal display, with window manager
and my secondary as a simple display ( I plan to launch a viewer, I
don't need a window manager!)

Is there any way to get a Radeon 7000 to work with Red Hat 8 (which uses
XFree86 4.2.x) : I see that it is supported by XFree86 4.3.x which is
installed by Red Hat 9 and indeed this works fine on my system. However I
really need to use RH8. Can I simply install XFree86 4.3 onto RH8 to resolve

The problem is not with the config file, but with the Radeon driver in
4.3.0. Get the latest & greatest XF86 from CVS and compile on your own
and it'll work like a charm.

3D support for older Radeon cards should actually be pretty solid in

It is the difference between two versions of a set of source files -- a
"delta", so to speak.
You apply it to the "older" of the two versions with a nice utility called
"patch".
