mails. Their outlook responded with an error recipient's email address not
valid and code 550 relay denind.

Hi,
Possibly the error is in the email destination, inexistent user for
example, or in the outlook.
Outlook or Outlook Express? Same version?
Is a permanent error for this users?
Any email sent for these customers is denied?
Try send mail to self only?
I have problems with Outlook with some
Outlook express
but the problem is not related to the destination mail address because it is
correct.
I will try to see the smtp log. But the strange think is that asap i assiged
a different public ip to the customers the problem went away, seems
something strange in when xmail has to check
this is what i get into the smtp log:
smtp.convergenze.it smtp.convergenze.it 89.189.52.53 2007-04-10
19:51:48 Portatile [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[EMAIL PROTECTED]S4978CRCPT=ERELAY 0
I don't know howto intepreterr this.
Any help?

Is a static IP in the xmail server? If affirmative, try to use the IP
address directy in the smtp server address in the outlook account, if
you changed IP recently is possible DNS are not refresh to customer,
in other words, customer connecting with wrong server.

http://www.dns.net/dnsrd/rr.html:
IPv6 address, code 28. Used for storing an IPv6 128-bit address
associated with a domain name. Defined in RFC 3596.
The code 28 looks like it refers to an IPv6 record, indeed. XMail should
just drop this answer, unless XMail supports IPv6 or there is
my fault
I misstyped the smtprelay tab.what idiot I am!

Thanks for testing!
I forgot to mention that I added a column to the SMAIL log. That's the end
response to the final DATA command (w/out the SMTP code). This usually
returns the remote server message ID,
