Yes, ASSP does SPF/SRS (with second XMail instance
for the outbound traffic).

when XMail reaches receive timeout (STD_SERVER_TIMEOUT = 90s)
during SMTP DATA phase, it silently falls-back session to pre-DATA.
Shouldn't client connection be dropped instead? Does any RFC mention
correct behaviour?
