Sorry for the re-post, looking at Eudora as a client, I see a temporary file
created like so:
C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1.FMF\LOCALS~1\Temp\rr89E.tmp;
and wonder if this is the issue. I also noticed that the TO address is in
left and right carets, but that is email-legal I believe(?)

That just happened to me yesterday - I was testing
my [EMAIL PROTECTED] service and a user sent a
request with a return receipt requested - and it
got stuck as did yours. I thought, at first, it
was a problem with [EMAIL PROTECTED], but maybe not.

Do you have AllowNullSender enabled? If not then maybe that is what is
needed.

That breaks everything and potentially can disrupt the entire
Internet. It is considered such a serious offense by mail admins that
there is even a blacklist
