I've seen this same behavior three times during the last month or so, with the number
of dup messages varying from 26 to 84. However, this can't be a bug in XMail 1.8, as
I'm still running 1.2 on this machine (RH Linux). Xmail ran for months (since whenever
1.2 was the current version) without

Sounds like it may be the same problem I related to you off list, namely
that Xmail is not completing it's POP3 syncs when an anomaly occurs. It
doesn't delete the message from the external POP3 server and therefore
starts all over at the next sync interval.

I've had the problem with duplicate emails, and i'm on version 1.7 using
linux. On mine, it seams to duplicate when the To: field, contains more than
1 recipient.
