I just bought a Matrox Parhelia, I read the reviews and they were

2D game fans beware: If you really love playing old 2D games (the good ones) in full screen mode, pay attention when you buy your next video board. My (f***ing) SiS 305, for instance, doesn't support video modes below 640x480. What are these hardware manufacturers thinking about?

XVidMode is supported via SDL, but not directly. I think someone did
mention this idea a few months back, too.

There's been a lot of discussion about fullscreen display drivers
lately, yet nobody mentionned that something Xmame really lacks is plain
fullscreen X11 rendering using XFree86's XVidMode extension. Lawrence &

I can probe for all of the modules required up to the
point when I can "cat /dev/input/js0" and actually get

That's how I used to test it and wonder "Ooh, now I
can pass to the xmame configuration step." - Well,
that's not working right now. I
Sorry, people! I actually meant "SDL". Been hacking
through a lot of stuff today, so my brains must be
shutting down... :-)
PS: Just in case, my video board is a SiS 305. True

Actually, it's quite feasable for DGA to be slower than X11+Shm when t
Woah! what kind of setup do you have that makes DGA slow things down?
DGA is designed to be faster than the windowed mode. Is your video
card not supported very well?

Unfortunatelly DGA really slow down things a lot. I
usually set up my X server so as I have a
high-resolution display (1024x???) and a
low-resolution display (640x480) so when I run xmame
in a window, I just switch mode with Ctrl+Alt+- and
get the same performance with bigger output. Hope it
helps.
Problem solved...
I apologize to the mailing-list for the post

Sorry guys,
How do I installa GLMame 0.94?
I've downloaded xmame source and
http://jausoft.com/Files/GLMame/xmame_0.65.1_SugitanisBlit-GL0.94b.diff.bz2
what should I do to patch xmame?
Tnx for support!

Another problem...
I used to run xmame with kernel 2.2 and have that
gamepad working, but not now. I'm currently running
kernel 2.4.
I can probe for all of the modules required up to the
point when I can "cat /dev/input/js0" and actually get
output on the screen when I press the gamepad buttons.
Oh, well, never mid that. I will keep the -scale 2 and play happy until I die!

Greetings!
Been an xmame user for a long time, but finally
subscribed. Sorry if my first posting is bad news,
though! :-) But I just gotta report this:
I (unfortunatelly) own an AMD K6-II 300Mhz and I have
experienced crashes in CPS2 games, at least since
version 0.59. The hardware just locks up.

Hi, I've seen that with XMAME 0.65.1 the support for saving states in
Neo Geo roms doesn't work (it did in version 0.61). Now, if I save a
state in any Neo Geo rom and then restore it, it's like if I just
inserted a coin and pressed 1 player start.
I don't know if it's in ALL Neo Geo roms but at le
You can try SDL if your XFree supports XvidMode (is that right? it's
something like that...)
It won't be as fast, but it'll do. Make sure you put in some modelines
for smaller resolutions to get the best results.
