hi i have been trying to use

had no luck on finding out how to do this

Look for the file .../xkb/symbols/us (probably under /usr/share/xkb or
/etc/xkb). In there you'll find a section named USA - Programmer Dvorak.
Starting with a copy of that, create a new section (remember to give it
a new, unique name
