Xorg Fails on HP Envy 3D Laptop

2011-07-20 Thread Thomas D. Dean
I have an HP Envy 3D laptop with 64-bit FreeBSD 8.2-stable.

I upgraded xorg to the latest port version.

startx fails, with error messages. Searching for this situation results
in an indication that this device configuration is not supported.

What may I do to help diagnose this problem?

The laptop seems to have two graphics devices, from /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Your only option at the moment is probably vesa. Both the Intel and
radeon drivers require KMS for the latest asics which has not been
ported to freebsd yet. KMS is also required to use most hybrid
laptops (multiple GPUs).
