I have Ubuntu 18 running Google Chrome. Google chrome freezes my machine. I
figured it out that the hardware acceleration is the issue. From what I
understand, something like this shouldn't freeze Xorg. I need to disable
GLX, DRI2 and DRI3 in Xorg to fix the issue. I don't see any errors
anywhere

I tried 3.13, and it didn't help. It still freezes.
What concerns mesa drivers, latest version 10 isn't in Debian repository yet.
Also mesa driver isn't a kernel module. The freezing bug source is most

Somebody there suggested that KMS might be related, since KMS-free
FreeBSD version of xorg works fine on the same HW.
Is there any workaround

Does this kernel patch help with/out KMS?
Yes, it helped a lot! Now EXANoComposite is completely unnecessary with and
without KMS.

Does changing the agpmode or disabling AGP help? Add:
radeon.agpmode=X
where X = -1, 1, 2, or 4 to the kernel command line. -1 will use pci
gart rather than agp.
