I have installed new fglrx and fglrx-update packages and i got:
no devices
no screens
there is probably no device file in /dev.Perhaps udev works not

Any reason you are not using KMS? UMS is not really supported any more.
Please make sure the radeon kernel module is loaded in KMS mode before starting
X.

Sounds like underflow to the display controller. Also 1920x1080 is probably a
bit much for the TMDS transmitter on the rv280; it's pretty close to the hw
