It seems not to crash when using Xrender or effects switched off. But it is not
absolutely for sure, because it is hard to reproduce a crash.

I suspect it's some kind of memory corruption; if you can run the X server in
valgrind, that might give some hints.
This might be related to bug 17358, but let's keep the reports
