in my personal experience one of the best ways to run Xournal is the Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 2. It is amazingly good. And the tablet has a battery that lasts close to 8 hrs. I cross-compile my own binaries. I have used the e-ink sony PDF reader with Wacom digitizer and it is way less smooth. --dmg
