This would be excellent! I've so far been using a build that I made off
master and uploaded to my own PPA.

Thanks Denis. That indeed resolves the issue.
Is it possible to create a minor release so that downstream people will
be able to include it in their future builds.
I've filed a corresponding ubuntu issue here:

Is this something people have seen on Ubuntu 15.04? The two machines I'm
observing this problem on are the only two 15.04 machines I have and one
runs Xfce while the other uses Unity.
Another question is how do you enabled efficient erasing? How is the
line segments stored so they can be efficiently looked up for erasing?
Thanks,

Has anyone ever had the issue where if you try to paste a screenshot or
something, xournal will not get the image until much much later? During
this time xournal will also not quit.

gtk2. Haven't checked GTK3 yet.
Also, Xournal uses ~500MB of RAM. The file in question is about ~5MB.
I can send the file, if you'd like?

So I'm currently studying and doing questions on Xournal. Up to 34 pages
and saving + load time is pretty painful. Also, when I initially load
the program it shows a blank screen, any scroll action will show the
drawings.

One thing that we should do is to load everything if the file size is
smaller than some value as those are okay. This will probably smooth
scrolling.

Looks awesome.
One thing: we should setup something like bugzilla so we can track
features/bugs easily. This is more organized than just people working on
the features they want.

Just the original Xournal for now.
It gets pretty bad..

I get pretty bad performance after about 14 pages of notes. Adding a
page, loading and everything gets really slow.
Can we mitigate this somehow? I noticed that .xoj files are compressed
files (?), can we chain these files together so the performance doesn't
degrade?

One thing about reliability:
I've not had xournal crash on me a lot. I think there may be once.
However, the lack of a recovery feature is concerning. If there is
recovery, crashes are less problematic.

As for xournal++... if it is a total rewrite I don't think it is
appropriate to use almost the same name. That just seems confusing (as
it did for me).
Just my two cent.

Can't we merge the two projects into one? This seems confusing with
xournalpp.
