I have a Compaq Deskpro EN with built-in i815 graphics, running FreeBSD
4.6-STABLE. This system disk used to be in a different system with
built in SiS graphics and XFree86 3.3.6. When I moved it over to this
newer machine, I installed XFree86 version 4.1.0, then discovered that I
needed 4.

After searching through the XFree Xpert mailing list I noticed that couple
of people have similar problem with setting of this video mode on i830

I'm trying to set up XFree86 on my sony laptop using a CVS version of
XFree 4.2. This version contains the i810 patch to enable more video
than the 1mb provided by the BIOS.
However, i still can't get it to work. It seems that a dual

(not xinerama but in multicard mode) the screen wich is attached with my S3
is black (the boot is made correctly, but after is black screen). I try the

Just wanted to inform Mr. Hourihane that his driver
(the one in his page) is really faster than the
XFree4.2 module (may be compilation options) but Xv is
completely destroyed. Only green and pink garbage
appears instead of video. It doesn't even move just
green static garbage in the windo
The s3 driver was documented to support the trio64v2 in 4.2 as of Jan
22nd. But in fact the actual s3_driver.c does not include it's PCI
signature.
Is it supported - or not? Perhaps only the PCI number is missing in the
driver (easy to add)?

basically, i tried XFree86 -probeonly and it does generate a log file,
configuring with Option "NvAGP" "0" gave me at least the nvidia logo for
a brief moment before everything crashed

This is a typo, I'm not sure how the V2 or PlatoPX got on the list of
supported cards in the docs. I will add support for the V2 next week, can
you test this, as I do not have any V2 cards handy.
