Hi, After searching through the XFree Xpert mailing list I noticed that couple of people have similar problem with setting of this video mode on i830 based systems. In my case it is n5495 HP laptop.
Is there any particular solution to this problem now? or is there anything I could do to help solving it? My card has reported 8MB of stolen ram, which should be enough for this mode, but the BIOS still keeps on offering video modes only up to 1280x1024. I looked at the source code of the driver, is there any reason why the i830 driver uses BIOS to talk to the chip? Jan p.s.
