I have recently updated my Mandrake 8.1 to Mandrake 8.2,kernel 2.4.18. My video card is a 3DImage975, 4 MBytes of RAM, and with both the XFree
server the current Mandrake distribution is offering (3.3.6 and 4.2.0) it is impossible to have usable colors on my screen if the setup is different from 1024x876 8bpp. With the previous version of Mandrake 8.1 I always used the resolution 1024x876 16 bpp, so it seems me a problem of regression... I tried also the latest trident_drv.o available on this server, but no news for this problem :((( I'm available to offer all the support I can (also as developer), but I need a bit of help from an expert to start this activity...
