Hello.

First off, I'd like to say thank you to all of the xfree86 developers
for your tremendous contribution to making a world of free software a
reality.

I have backported the 2d driver of the intel 845G driver for our
upcoming release of lindowsOS.

In our testing, we have come across a bug which was fixed in a later
series of patches. The specific bug is that the 845G driver doesn't
respect the refresh rates specified in the xf86config file.

>From looking at the cvs commit list, I see that it was fixed in a
later series of patches that include 3d support.

I would like to ask if it would be possible to separate the fix for
refresh rate handling from the larger 3d patch, as we don't have the
time to work on the entire 3d patch (which is really two large
patches) and I'm not inclined to add that much possible instability to
our upcoming release.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

  michael
