Opps! That is a transcription error (my fault!), it is spelled correctly in
the form. The form works in XSLTForms version 1.3, I installed 1.7 to test
and this error popped up.
I will put together a simple version of the form for testing.

Maybe a typo with the first instance name (porject for project ?) :
instance('i-porjectSpecificData') => instance('i-projectSpecificData’) ?
