Xfce, and it still takes 12 steps to reset so the user can try to get
logged into the correct Xubuntu session.

This is still an issue, in a fresh install using the Xubuntu oneiric-
alternate-amd64.iso dated 2011-08-10. I am attaching a screenshot
showing the two Xubuntu sessions clearly. apt-cache policy gives lightdm
0.9.3-0ubuntu1.

This also occurrs on every installation, both i386 and amd64. If the
user does not select Xubuntu Session at first login, the user is given a
blank Ubuntu wallpaper and can not do anything. They must then go to a
tty and login, restart lightdm, login again, and choose a session.

Could be the firefox 4.0b8 itself, but when I attempted this, the cursor
changed in firefox main body, bookmarks and menus only. The cursor did
not change on the desktop, panels, or other applications. I don't think

The simple answer is to use icon view or compact view to navigate to the
desired folder, then a simple Ctrl+2 will show you the detailed view.
