Looking through some logs saw libcec entry. The cec control on the tv is off. I
used a non cec tv and mythtv responded a lot better. I was getting minutes
delay from each setting in mythtv backend setup. Is there a way to disable cec?

lsblk
You should get a list back with something like this (in my case disk sdb
is not encrypted):
