to install a virtual Machine as a 2nd machine is a really good idea.
Will try it this weekend. I only have a 6-kern AMD-Prozessor but think
this should be possible anyway.
The memory should match this also, I have 16 GB-DDR3-RAM installed.
Can I use an extra SSD for this install

I'm using VirtualBox, IMO the easiest to use VM.

I don't know the details, but I suspect it should be possible to use
both on one install and it also should work to use other container
systems

for installing gimp 10 I had to install snap. So far so good.
But now I should install Octave 5.1, and this is not possible without
flatpak. So now my question is, can I have a snap- and flatpak-
installation on the same machine ?
