@Sergei: I want to know about that for completeness since am using viscous
damping and also because in the future I will probably be using clumps too
and I understood that (maybe) there could be an issue about the time step of
the numerical scheme.

Attached script runs without errors in serial mode (-j 1 option),
but in parallel mode (-j 2 or more) it crash at second O.run.

Hi, Chiara.
At the moment I don't have the clever formulation. I use the linear
viscoelastic with given half-period. So, I use timestep as 0.1 of the
half-period. It give me 10 time steps per typical collision, that is
sufficient for stability. May I ask you, what type of criticism you
need? I
