I suggest to move the true example scripts in the example/ folder progressively while they are tested. Currently, examples are in fact spreaded between example and scripts/test and the reason is not very clear for me (although I imagine the "test" scripts were initialy supposed to be simpler than the "example" scripts, it is not a practical difference). In the end, there should be no example (in the sense of something that users will use to discover a feature) in scripts/test/ or scripts/. It will probably need to update a few path in the documentation. So, please, if you check and move a script to example/, make a quick-search in the doc and make sure you don't left a wrong path to test/script.py behind.
I also think we should keep the tree as flat as possible in example/. No need to add new dirs there unless the scripts are linked to additional files (doc, results, input data, etc.).
